Description

Make sure your description gives the most important information to convince the visitor about your product, but keep it concise. When someone opens an ad and a large chunk of text appears, it can cause a visitor to drop out.

Pro Tip! The first line of your description appears in the search results, so a mention of an offer can convince the customer to click through to your ad instead of another advertiser.

Footer

The footer is located below the description in the advertisement and here you want to convince the visitor to click through to your website and buy. Often a listing of "Unique Selling Points" works best here to win over the visitor.

Cost-per-click

Once your ad is optimally constructed, you can start putting it live and you need to determine the ideal cost-per-click. The cost-per-click may work differently than you are used to on other advertising platforms. You don't pay for the click to your website but for the click from the search results or category page to your Marktplaats ad. When you set a cost-per-click of € 0.05 and the percentage of clicks from your ad to your website is 10%, one click to your website will cost € 0.50.

Example:

100 visitors find your ad through the search results and category pages and click on it. With a cost-per-click of 0.05 euros, this will cost you 5 euros. Of these 100 ad visitors, 10% click through to your website. So you have 10 website visitors and they cost 0.50 euros each.
